Welcome to CARAPACE. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, and protected when you use the CARAPACE Android application (“the App”). CARAPACE is designed as a native wrapper for GitHub Codespaces, aimed at providing a stable and frictionless mobile development environment.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

CARAPACE is built with privacy and minimalism in mind. The App itself does not independently collect, store, track, or share any personally identifiable information (PII), analytics, telemetry, or usage data.

  • No Tracking: We do not use third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics) within the App wrapper.
  • No Ad Identifiers: We do not collect or use advertising identifiers.

3. Information Managed by Third Parties (GitHub)

Because CARAPACE acts as a native interface for GitHub Codespaces, your use of the App directly connects you to GitHub’s services.

  • Authentication: When you log in, you are authenticating directly with GitHub. CARAPACE securely handles the session tokens required to keep your connection active but does not transmit these credentials to any servers other than GitHub’s.
  • Codespace Data: All code, environmental data, and terminal inputs are transmitted directly between your device and your GitHub Codespace.
  • GitHub’s Privacy Policy: Since the core functionality relies entirely on GitHub, your interactions, data storage, and telemetry within the Codespaces environment are governed by GitHub’s Privacy Statement. We strongly recommend reviewing their policy.

4. Permissions Required

To function correctly, CARAPACE requires the following Android device permissions:

  • Internet: Required to connect to GitHub Codespaces and render the cloud development environment.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to ensure that the wrapper maintains secure connections (HTTPS/WSS) between your device and GitHub’s servers. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
